Riopaila Castilla, seeking to attend to the health emergency that the Valle del Cauca capital is experiencing due to COVID-19, makes a new delivery of 20,000 liters of alcohol that, added to the May donation, reaches 40,000 liters for Cali alone. Delivery is made in conjunction with Asocana and the sugar mills of Valle and Norte del Cauca, destined for medical and hospital centers, prisons and vulnerable communities in the city.

In this way, the Agroindustrial Group adds 290 thousand liters of alcohol donated to municipal and departmental governments (Valle del Cauca, Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda and Cundinamarca), prisons, hospitals, relief agencies, peasants, small farmers, cane suppliers , workers and merchants.

All this delivery of alcohol has been attended by the Riopaila Distillery, a subsidiary of the group, which during the health emergency has turned all its efforts, to produce a greater proportion of anhydrous or antiseptic alcohol that the country did not have, instead of fuel alcohol. , which before the pandemic was used 100% to serve other markets. “We saw the need to transform our production to first attend to a health emergency. We started donations in municipalities in our area of influence, then we expanded to almost all the municipalities of the Valley and other departments such as Antioquia, Risaralda, Caldas and Cundinamarca, some donations have been made by Asocaña and others in a private way”, assured Luisa Barona, director of Riopaila Factory and Distillery.

The commitment of this Valle del Cauca company with more than 100 years of experience in the production of sugar, honey, alcohol, energy and biofuels, is to be part of the solution, and given the current situation it continues to generate shared value in its territories of operation, region and country.
