Riopaila Castilla supported the maintenance of 78 kilometers of rural roads in Valle and Cauca

  • More than 13 thousand families located in rural areas of Valle del Cauca and Cauca benefited from the maintenance work carried out by Riopaila Castilla. The investment exceeds $150 million.
  • In the last three years, and as part of its commitment to territorial development, important contributions have been made to the maintenance of more than 380 kilometers of rural roads.

Cali, September 2023. As part of the commitment to territorial development in its areas of direct operation and its premise of progress in the country, the Riopaila Castilla Agroindustrial Group works hand in hand with rural communities and local authorities to maintain tertiary roads.

As of September of this year, the company intervened 78 kilometers of rural roads through its “Rural Roads” program. The investments include adaptation works that allow improving rural mobility to population centers in municipalities such as Florida, Pradera, Jamundí, Bugalagrande and Obando, in Valle del Cauca, and Padilla, in Cauca. The investment amounts exceed $150 million, within which social promotion actions are included.

“There are more than thirteen thousand families that have benefited from these rural interventions so far in 2023. Our investment includes machinery such as backhoes or motor graders, man hours and road supplies mainly, which allow improving the conditions of rural roads. In this way, we contribute to the revitalization of local economies that depend on the mobilization of products harvested in these towns to populated centers, all of this as part of our commitment to territorial development," explained Guillermo Carvajal, Corporate Affairs Manager of Riopaila Castilla.

Carvajal added that the company also carried out this year, under consultation with communities and local authorities, the provision of personnel and equipment for cleaning roads and some mitigation works in populations in areas of direct operation of its production plants affected by the season. rains that were experienced in the first half of the year.

It should be noted that in the last three years, the Riopaila Castilla Agroindustrial Group supported the maintenance of more than 380 kilometers of tertiary roads in municipalities of Valle del Cauca and northern Cauca, as part of its commitment to Colombia, a commitment since 1918.
