Riopaila Castilla presents a competitive fund for social and community initiatives in Valle and Cauca

• The Riopaila Castilla Agroindustrial Group presented the 'Riopaila Castilla Más Competitive Fund', an initiative that seeks to support the development of projects conceived by community organizations in their areas of operation.
• The 17 projects, including initiatives for recycling and environmental education, and animal husbandry, are developed in the municipalities of Zarzal, Florida, Pradera, Obando, Bugalagrande, in Valle del Cauca, and in Miranda and Padilla, in the north of the Cauca.

C.Ali, April 2023. – The Riopaila Castilla Agroindustrial Group presented the 'Riopaila Castilla Más Competitive Fund', an initiative that seeks to financially support the development of projects formulated by communities that are located in the company's operating areas, with a socio-environmental and economic scope.

Foundations, social organizations, community action boards, among other actors, are part of the 17 initiatives chosen during their first call, open in 2022, which Riopaila Castilla supports by accompanying strengthening processes that guarantee the success of their Projects. From initiatives that seek to generate environmental awareness to ventures led by women's associations are part of the list.

Guillermo Carvajal, manager of Corporate Affairs at Riopaila Castilla explained that these projects are already underway in the municipalities of Zarzal, Florida, Pradera, Obando, Bugalagrande, in Valle del Cauca; also from Miranda and Padilla, in the north of Cauca. “The Riopaila Castilla Más Contestable Fund is an initiative that ratifies our commitment to territorial development in the areas where we operate, a commitment that we have assumed since 1918, where we seek to generate value in all our interest groups, this time with the support of initiatives that allow progress in projects of a social, environmental and economic nature. We are proud to have communities strengthened in the associativity to generate these development processes”, he indicated.

In a ceremony that took place in the city of Cali, the Grupo Agroindustrial Riopaila Castilla gave special recognition to the participants of this fund, in which the company allocated more than $170 million in the first call. "We will have a new call in this 2023, where we increase the fund to $250 million to continue supporting the development of community initiatives and that more people from our areas of operation can participate," added Carvajal.

It should be noted that the 'Riopaila Castilla Más Contest Fund' is part of the commitment of the company's sustainability strategy, which during 2022 invested more than $8,000 million in social impact actions led by its foundation, the Caicedo González Riopaila Castilla Foundation.
